Studies on the utilization of F1 hybrids using cytoplasmic male sterility in burley (Nicotiana tabacum L. cv. Burley) tobacco

In a study of four cytoplasmically male-sterile lines, their male-fertile counterparts, 21 F1 hybrids and their parents, the hybrid male-sterile L8 X Burley 49 and three other hybrids outyielded Burley 21 by between 2 and 11% and had slightly higher quality.
