Voprosy Pitaniia 39: 24-26
Of 25 children, 6 months to 5.5 years old, with phenylketonuria, who were treated from 3 to 7.5 years old with a special diet (Berlofen), 14 continued to receive the Berlofen-based diet when signs of healing appeared while the remaining 11 ate ordinary diet. During the treatment, concentration of proteins, especially the transferrins, increased in serum, compared with that of normal children.
