Testing the effect of crossbreeding by the least-squares method

Testing the effect of crossbreeding by the least-squares method

Zivocisna Vyroba 26(9): 647-654

Data were obtained on Czech-bred Landrace (CL), 75% CL-25% Belgian Landrace (BL), 50% CL-50% BL, 25% CL-75% BL, and BL pigs (30 per group) up to 100 kg body weight. Age at 100 kg, backfat thickness, eye-muscle area, the percentage of ham in the carcass, the percentage of primal cuts, and daily gain in primal cuts were considered. For each type of pig, curves were fitted for the various traits.
