Information is presented on the winter hardiness, drought resistance and disease resistance of more than 20 4x varieties studied during 1969-76. The hardiest was Tetraploidnyi VIK and the most drought resistant were Tetraploidnyi VIK and the Finnish varieties Tepa and Jokioinen TPA1.
