The European export policy for milk and dairy products

Between 1970 and 1979, EEC exports of dairy products to non-member countries increased from 5.8 to 13.6 million t milk-equivalent and from 6.7 to 13.3% of EEC dairies' milk intake. In terms of milk fat, they increased during the same period from 258 000 to 634 000 t, i.e. from 7.9 to 16.3% of EEC dairies' fat intake. Of the 13.6 million t milk-equivalent exported in 1979, 7 million was dried skim milk, 3.2 million dried whole milk, 2.2 million cheese and 1.2 million condensed milk.
