Abstract
Some of the mutants produced by gamma -irradiation of seeds of winter wheat cv. Mironovskaya 808, Mironovskaya Yubileinaya, Il'ichevka and Bezostaya 1 were superior to the parent cv. in grain protein and amino acid contents. Mutant GP-161 had values for 1000-grain wt. 50.6 g, protein content 173.82 g/kg grain and amino acids 45.5 g, compared with 49.3, 167.62 and 43.6 g, resp., in the parent cv. Il'ichevka.
