The critical level of zinc for deficiency and responses to different sources of zinc sprays for rosetted trees of the apple cultivar Ralls

In a field trial with rosetted trees of the apple Ralls in the mountain region of Qin-ling, zinc sulphate and 3 forms of zinc oxysulphate (781, 791 and 792) were compared in sprays. Zn deficiency was confirmed in both trees and soil in affected areas. The critical level of foliar Zn for deficiency was in the range 16.4-21.2 p.p.m. Rosetting could develop when the foliar P:Zn ratio was higher than 115.
