The effect of ammonia and propionic acid on the growth and aflatoxin production of Aspergillus parasiticus NRRL 5835

No growth or aflatoxin production was detected in potato dextrose broth with an initial pH of 4 and 7 with acid levels of 1.0% and upwards, and with ammonia levels of 0.2 and 0.1% and upwards for pH 7 and 9, respectively.
