The effect of fluoride intake on the total lipid, cholesterol and vitamin E levels in sera and liver of guinea pigs on high fat diet

The effect of fluoride intake on the total lipid, cholesterol and vitamin E levels in sera and liver of guinea pigs on high fat diet

Life Sciences 27(21): 1961-1966

Guineapigs were raised on a diet containing 18% fat and were provided with fluoride 25 or 0 mu g/ml in the drinking water. They were killed at start or after 3, 6, 9 or 13 weeks on the diet for estimation in blood serum of fluoride, total lipid, cholesterol and alpha -tocopherol. The serum total lipid values, cholesterol and alpha -tocopherol were increased with the high-fluoride diet between 9 and 13 weeks, as were total lipid and alpha -tocopherol in the livers.
