In field trials at Pati, Java in 1975 the effects of sowing date and plant density on cotton yield and quality were studied. Sowing on 11 and 21 Feb. gave the highest seed cotton yields of 1.10 and 1.09 t/ha, resp. The opt. density was 40 000 plants/ha giving an av. seed cotton yield of 0.97 t/ha.
