The effect of some meteorological factors on the yield and content of nitrogenous substances in horse bean (Vicia faba L.)

In beans (V. faba) Inovec at Nitra in 1976-9, the dry wt. of aboveground plant parts and seeds was measured at the beginning of flowering, full flowering, end of flowering, green ripeness and full ripeness; in 1976-8 the contents of total N, CP and essential amino acids in the leaves and seeds was measured at the same stages. The temp. and rainfall totals in the growing season were recorded. Seed yield was negatively correlated with seed CP content.
