The lipids and phospholipids of hydatid protoscolices of Echinococcus granulosus (Cestoda)



International Journal for Parasitology 103: 213-216



Phospholipids, fatty acids, mono-, di- and triglycerides, cholesterol and cholesterol esters in protoscoleces of Echinococcus granulosus were identified and quantitatively determined. Cephalin, lecithin, lysolecithin, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphatidyl serine and sphingomyelin were the phospholipids isolated, the first 2 being the most abundant.
