In field trials on slightly clayey sand in 1973-5 potatoes grown in 1973 and '74 were given annual applications of 40-200 kg N + 40-200 kg P2O5 + 60-300 kg K2O/ha. Grain yields of following spring barley Gryf grown in 1974 and '75 increased with increasing rates of NPK applied to the potatoes, from 2.34 and 3.49 t grain/ha in 1974 and '75, resp. with the lowest rates of NPK to 2.77 and 3.71 t, resp. with the highest rate of NPK.
