The response of the photosynthetic apparatus of winter wheat seedlings to nitrogen nutrition at different temperatures

Under stress-free conditions an improvement in the N nutrition of winter wheat seedlings stimulated the activity of certain enzymes important in the reduction of C compounds (including ribulosediphosphate dehydrogenase and glyceraldehydephosphate dehydrogenase) and the accumulation of chlorophyll, all being indirect indices of photosynthetic activity. These indices were decreased at lower temp., but at higher temp. they were considerably increased particularly when the N supply was doubled.
