The uptake and distribution of NPK and the accumulation of dry matter in tomato and capsicum fruits, leaves, stems and roots were studied as well as the removal of these elements by the main and subsequent crops from the hydroponic substrate or from the soil. In plants grown hydroponically the accumulation of dry matter was 3-4 times greater than in plants grown in soil.
