Trials on the mechanical harvesting of grapes by vertical shaking. Comparison between a row-straddling and an interrow grapevine harvester

Trials on the mechanical harvesting of grapes by vertical shaking. Comparison between a row-straddling and an interrow grapevine harvester

Informatore Agrario 35(11): 5021-5029

The interrow harvester MTB/TV operating on one side of the row only and the row straddler MTB/S4 VO operating on both sides were tested in the same vineyard of Lambrusco Grasparossa grapevines, trained by the Double Geneva Curtain system and planted with 4-m interrows. The first cost L 22 000 000 and required 4 operators; the second cost L 60 000 000 and required 5 operators. Details of both are given as are data on all aspects of their operating times and rates.
