Types of host plant resistance to the sweetpotato weevil found in sweet potato roots

Types of host plant resistance to the sweetpotato weevil found in sweet potato roots

Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society 54(3): 649-657

The resistance of some cultivars of sweet potato to Cylas formicarius elegantulus (Summers) previously observed in small-plot tests was apparently due in most cases to non-preference, since in the present tests in Louisiana no antibiosis inhibiting feeding or oviposition was found when non-preferred varieties were artificially infested.
