Use of fodder yeast Fermosin grown on mineral oil distillate in feeds for animals. 4. Mineral oil distillate yeast as substitute for protein feeds in rations for fattening broilers

Use of fodder yeast Fermosin grown on mineral oil distillate in feeds for animals. 4. Mineral oil distillate yeast as substitute for protein feeds in rations for fattening broilers

Archiv fur Tierernahrung 31(5/6): 403-412

4. In trial 1 with 64 broilers from 10 to 56 days old given meal and water freely, 5, 10 or 12.5% of the fodder yeast Fermosin replaced yeast grown on molasses, some or all of fish meal and usually some soya bean oilmeal in control mixtures. Amounts of energy, protein, lysine and sulphur amino acids were roughly equal for all groups; cereals and fat were supplied also. All protein feeds contained DL-methionine.
