In a study of winter X spring wheat hybrids after winter and spring sowing, spring habit was dominant in the F1. In the F2, winter, spring and alternative plants segregated. Winter biotypes comprised 12.8-41.5% of the population, according to the cross. In the course of natural selection of the hardier forms, resistance of hybrids to winter conditions increased in some crosses and remained unchanged in others.
