Variability for fodder yield and its components in cowpea



Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 46(6): 407-410



In 1975, 28 strains of Vigna unguiculata were sown on two dates in the kharif season. Genotypic and phenotypic coefficients of variation were high for plant height, leaf number per plant, leaf fresh and dry weights, stem fresh weight, green fodder yield per plant and dry matter yield per plant. Estimates of genetic advance were high for these traits and for stem dry weight.
