Variability for forage quality, silage quality, and agronomic traits in forage sorghum

The variation among 49 F1 hybrids from a 7 X 7 cross was studied in 1979 and 1980 for heading date, height, lodging and Brix and for several other quality traits. Significant differences among hybrid means over both parents were present for in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) in fresh-dried samples, for dry matter in silage, and for Brix.
