Variability induced by gamma rays in sorghum

In both the M1 and M2 generations of the local improved varieties Surat 1, GJ108 and BP53, exposed to gamma radiation at 10, 20, 30 and 40 kR, there were significant increases in variability for all the characters studied. GJ108 was more sensitive to gamma radiation than BP53. The highest M1 sterility was seen in Surat 1.
