Variability of depth to bedrock in Everglades organic soil

Variability of depth to bedrock in Everglades organic soil

Soil and Crop Science Society of Florida Proceedings 38: 66-71

454 measurements of ground surface elevation of organic soil and 432 measurements of depth to bedrock were made along historical subsidence survey lines in 1978. The total distance measured was 6.5 km. Maximum differences within any field between ground surface elevations, depths of organic soil and bedrock elevations were 480, 880 and 940 mm, respectively. The maximum standard deviations of ground elevation, depth of organic soil and bedrock elevation were 120, 270 and 310 mm, respectively.
