Varieties from Europe and Israel were grown in different countries. Environmental effects were greater than varietal effects on linoleic acid content and iodine number. Differences in linoleic acid content were smaller under Swedish (favourable) conditions than in Israel (unfavourable). Differences were greater in midlate varieties than in earlier groups.
