Variances, covariances and phenotypic, genotypic and genetic additive correlations in a maize composite (Zea mays L.)

Variances, covariances and phenotypic, genotypic and genetic additive correlations in a maize composite (Zea mays L.)

Revista Ceres 27(149): 32-46

Measurements were made of various characters in 156 progenies which resulted from the use of 39 plants of Composto Dente B to pollinate four mother plants each, from the same population. Analysis of the data showed that there was both additive and dominant genetic variability in height, ear insertion height, number of ears/plot, ear weight/plot, 1000-grain weight and grain yield/plot, while for number of days to silking only dominance could be detected.
