Variation in K, Na, Ca and Mg content in grass by exhaustion of soils for K

In pot trials in 1973-6, perennial ryegrass was grown in 19 soils in which the K content had been exhausted for several yr using the same sp., and no K or K was applied. Grass K, Na, Ca and Mg contents were influenced by K application, date in the growth season, duration of K exhaustion, soil type and interactions between these factors.
