Variation in body weight at birth and at 205 and 365 days of age in Indo-Brazilian cattle

Arquivos da Escola de Veterinaria da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais 33(1): 115-122

Body weight at birth, weaning (205 days) and 365 days averaged 31.3, 139.5 and 198.2 kg resp. for 570, 541 and 385 Indo-Brasilian cattle, with CVs of 12.1, 20.0 and 19.1%. Herd had a significant effect on all 3 weights, and month of calving significantly affected 205-day and 365-day weights, with calves born in July-Nov. showing the highest 205-day weights and those born in Mar.-June the highest 365-day weights.
