Variation in clutch size during early stage of lay in White Leghorns

For 2 strains of White Leghorns (169 and 181 birds resp.), the number of clutches produced during the first 19 wk of lay averaged 24.40 and 25.40 resp., and clutch size averaged 3.71 and 3.74. Each 5 successive clutches were designated as "clutch groups".
