Variation in length of the estrous cycle in mice due to former intrauterine proximity to male fetuses

Variation in length of the estrous cycle in mice due to former intrauterine proximity to male fetuses

Biology of Reproduction 22(4): 777-780

Female mouse foetuses occupying an intra-uterine position between male foetuses exhibit longer oestrous cycles in adulthood than do females formerly residing in utero next to females foetuses. This difference in cycle length in adults was observed consistently when the 2 types of female were maintained under a variety of social conditions as adults.
