When grain of Viktoriya was treated with 0.025 and 0.012% N-nitroso-N-ethylurea (NEU), 0.02, 0.01 and 0.005% N-nitroso-N-methylurea (NMU), ethyleneimine and dimethyl sulphate, and also 0.1 and 0.05% 1,4-bisdiazoacetylbutane (DAB), useful mutants with increased values for yield components were obtained in the M2 and M3, especially following treatment with NMU and DAB.
