Variation in some semen values of boars in relation to quality of the diet

Sixteen Landrace boars 18 months old weighing 150 kg were given for 49 days 3 kg daily of a balanced diet of maize 46.3, barley 30, wheat bran 5, sunflower seed oilmeal 5, soya bean oilmeal 10, fodder yeast 1 and vitamins and minerals 2.7%; the diet supplied crude protein 14.4%. Fifteen other boars were given 3 kg daily of a mixed diet which varied in quality and supplied crude protein 11.9 to 19.7%.
