Variation in specific gravity in 3-yr-old coppice clones of Eucalyptus saligna growing in Hawaii

Diam. u.b. and relative density (r.d.) were determined for the lower 2.4 m of 60 shoots from 23 stools (coppice clones). Mean diam. of all 60 shoots was 13.56 cm (range: 7.9-18.9 cm); coppice clone means (the av. of all shoots on one stool) ranged from 10.0 to 18.5 cm. Mean r.d. of all 60 shoots was 0.43 (range: 0.34-0.52); mean r.d. of coppice clones ranged from 0.35 to 0.51.
