Variation in specific leaf weight and RuDPCase activity in mungbean

Variation in specific leaf weight and RuDPCase activity in mungbean

Canadian Journal of Plant Science 60(3): 1059-1062

In a study of 20 varieties of Vigna radiata, varietal differences were significant for specific leaf weight (SLW) and ribulose-1,5-diphosphate carboxylase (RuDPCase) activity at the early reproductive stage. High-yielding varieties such as PHLV18 and KJ5 had higher SLW and higher RuDPCase activity than other varieties. Significant and positive correlations were found among SLW, RuDPCase, harvest index and seed yield.
