Variation in the seed hull maturity index in commercial peanut fields

Variation in the seed hull maturity index in commercial peanut fields

Peanut Science 8(2): 97-98

The variance among seed hull maturity index (SHMI) values for samples of groundnut Florigiant and NC6 was studied at 20 sites in North Carolina in 1980. It was suggested that 17-28 samples should be taken from a field depending on variability of field conditions. Recommendations are made for sampling and sub-sampling of fruits.
