Variation of GOT and GPT activity in blood serum of Czech Pied cattle

Variation of GOT and GPT activity in blood serum of Czech Pied cattle

Acta Universitatis Agriculturae, Facultas Agronomica, Brno 27(3-4): 155-162

Data were obtained on 87 Czech Pied cows selected as potential bull dams, their 379 contemporaries, and 210 fattened bulls. The activity of aspartate aminotransferase was higher, that of alanine aminotransferase was lower, and the ratio of the 2 enzymes was higher in potential dams than in their contemporaries. Within groups of females , differences among lactations were small. No relationship was found between the activities of transaminases and stage of lactation.
