Variations in growing stock in cultivated stands and its representation in growth sample plots

Variations in growing stock in cultivated stands and its representation in growth sample plots

Folia Forestalia, Institutum Forestale Fenniae (350): 15

Characteristics of the growing stock were measured in systematic circular plots and compared with those from the single sample plots subjectively chosen for the compilation of growth and yield tables. It is concluded that there is a clear tendency for growth plots to be located in a better than average part of the stand, and that values from sample-plot data should be reduced as follows in S. Finland (N.
