Variations in milk yield and milk fat and protein contents in relation to frequency of test milking during the year and 305-day lactations in Polish Black-and-White Lowland cows

Milk production of 410 Polish Black-and-White Lowland cows on 3 farms was studied during Jan. 1975-June 1976, test milkings being carried out every 10-14 days. Excluding cows with lactations <250 days, mean duration of lactation was 320 days. Mean annual and 305-day yields of milk fat and protein, estimated from test milkings at intervals of 10-14, 26-30 or 50-60 days are tabulated according to farm and the significance of differences in successive periods is indicated.
