Variations in the cold-hardiness of Lolium perenne L

Variations in the cold-hardiness of Lolium perenne L

Occasional Symposium, British Grassland Society (13): 213-215

An ethylene glycol freezing tank technique was used to study genotypic and environmentally induced variations in cold hardiness of L. perenne. In plants grown outside in the winter of 1977-8, changes in levels of hardiness were related to changes in air temp. and were consistent with the findings of threshold temp.
