Variations in the phosphatase activity of Lymnaea luteola and Melanoides tuberculatus during different larval trematode infections

Acid and alkaline phosphatase activities in the hepatopancreas of L. luteola were greater in infected than in uninfected snails. The increases in alkaline phosphatase activity were greater when the snails were infected with Cercaria pigmentata or Echinostoma revolutum than when infected with furcocercous cercariae or xiphidiocercariae.
