Variations in the vitamin status of young pigs

Variations in the vitamin status of young pigs

Zhivotnovodstvo (3): 55-57

Young Landrace X Large White pigs were weaned at 28 or 60 days and then kept in groups until 105 days old and fed on complete feed mixtures. Selective slaughter was at ages 14, 28, 42, 60 and 105 days. Vitamin concentrations in liver and blood plasma were estimated. Thiamin in blood increased until age 60 days then slowly fell, but pyridoxine peaked at 60 days. Vitamin A in liver at parturition was 83.9 to 84.1 IU/g.
