Variations of main characters in diallel cross progenies among seven clones of cocksfoot, Dactylis glomerata L. III. Forage yield under a high planting density

The progenies were studied under a high planting density with five cuts a year in 1976-77. Dry matter yields of the early-maturing forms were generally greater than those of the medium and late-maturing forms. Generally (1) the plants were taller or (2) the stubble diameter was larger in the higher-yielding than in the lower-yielding forms or both (1) and (2) characterized the higher-yielding forms.
