Variations of the circumference of the trachea in chronic Chagas' disease

Variations of the circumference of the trachea in chronic Chagas' disease

Revista da Associacao Medica Brasileira 25(6): 197-198

The circumference of the trachea measured at autopsy was 64.5 plus or minus 5.3 mm in 30 Brazilian patients with chronic Chagas' disease, compared with 60.8 plus or minus 4.8 mm in 30 non-Chagasic males. 6 of the 30 infected patients had trachea circumferences greater than 70 mm, i.e. outside the normal range.
