Varietal differences for germination and emergence in soybean under field, greenhouse and laboratory conditions



World soybean research conference II: abstracts [Corbin, F T Editor]: 71



10 soyabean were harvested in different seasons and stored for 9, 11 or 15 months before being treated with fungicide or left untreated, and sown in the (a) field, (b) laboratory and (c) greenhouse. Germination was in the order (b) > (c) > (a). Percentage germination and emergence were higher in the fungicide treated seeds. Emergence was higher in seeds harvested in a cool dry season and stored for the shortest period of time.
