Varietal differences in grain moisture and yield at different harvest dates

Varietal differences in grain moisture and yield at different harvest dates

USA, Agricultural Experiment Station, Louisiana State University: 71st Annual Progress Report, Rice Experiment Station, Crowley, Louisiana, 1979: 69-71

In field trials in 1979, rice Melrose and Starbonnet were sown in field trials and fertilized with 90 and 120 lb N/ac, resp. Grain m.c. decreased significantly as days-to-harvest increased. Grain yields did not change after harvesting 127 days after sowing up to 134 days. Melrose gave the highest yield when harvested 119 days after sowing and declined with time thereafter; yields of Starbonnet were highest at late harvesting dates.
