Varietal differences in root characteristics of paddy rice

Journal of the Korean Crop Science Society 25(1): 8-13

Characteristics of the japonica rice Jinheung and the indica X japonica Suweon 258 were investigated at heading in plants grown in sol. culture. Suweon 258 had fewer and shorter primary roots but larger secondary and tertiary roots, including long thin adventitious roots, than Jinheung.
