Varietal differences in seasonal changes of leaf size in lucerne

Science Reports of Faculty of Agriculture, Kobe University 14(2): 243-247

Ten varieties of Medicago sativa adapted to warm, cool or intermediate climatic conditions were examined. The warm and intermediate types had larger leaves and longer leaflets but the leaflets became very narrow in summer under the influence of long days and high temperatures.
