Varietal specificity in reaction of the photosynthetic apparatus to reduced light intensity and the yield of spring wheat

Varietal specificity in reaction of the photosynthetic apparatus to reduced light intensity and the yield of spring wheat

Trudy po Prikladnoi Botanike, Genetike i Selektsii 67(2): 48-57

Twelve varieties belonging to three species were studied in growth chambers (1977-78) and six (1978) and nine (1979) varieties of bread wheat were studied in the field. Forms in which the photochemical activity of the chloroplasts was most severely inhibited under conditions of shade showed the greatest fall in yield.
