Wood-boring habits of Eulophonotus obesus on Triplochiton scleroxylon

Eulophonotus obesus Karsh is one of several pests associated in Nigeria with Triplochiton scleroxylon, an important timber species. The larvae cause loss of wood, sap and gum, and this damage predisposes the tree to secondary invasion by other pests and diseases.
