Yield and N uptake by rice as affected by method & time of application of urea & sulphur coated urea

In field trials at Peradeniya in the 1978-9 wet season the effects of date, rate and method of application of N fertilizer as urea or sulphur coated urea (SCU) on rice BG 11-11 were studied. Tillers/hill and plant ht. increased with increased N rate but the effect was not significant. N content, N uptake, DM yield and grain and straw yields increased with increased N rates.
