A ground mechanism for dispensing insect pheromones to fruit trees

A ground mechanism for dispensing insect pheromones to fruit trees

Advances in Agricultural Technology, Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture (AAT-W-22): iv + 27

Ground equipment that was developed in studies in Washington State in 1978-80 for applying the Conrel chopped hollow fibre controlled release system to fruit trees for dispensing insect pheromones is described. The main components are a petrol engine, blower, alternator, hopper with auger, container for adhesive, carbon-dioxide cylinder with pressure regulator, nozzle and transporting trailer. The dispenser effectively coats fibres with adhesive and delivers them into the tree canopy.
